Ok it wasn’t quite a whisky wedding but it did involve our Portsmouth bar hire – in fact to be precise, it was a whisky and gin wedding! Generally speaking, our portable drinks cart is made up to house either a wide selection of whisky, gin, rum or vodka – although in this case we did a mix and match option. Rather than go for 5 gins and 5 whiskys however, they went for 6 high quality gins and 4 whiskys – a wise choice.
All jokes aside, our Portsmouth bar hire team presented a fully stocked whisky and gin cart for the wedding reception, featuring 10 different spirits to choose from, an array of garnish (including Scottish shortbread,a dash of water and ginger ale for the whisky & a plethora of fresh fruits and herbs for the gin). Furthermore there was an ample selection of standard and flavoured tonic waters and last but not least these beautifully spherical ice balls.
Here at Ace Bar Events we are a believer in the little things. We aim to pay attention to every single detail from our crystal cut glassware to our selection of ice balls. Built into our drinks cart, as well as to each of our mobile bars, we have state of the art ice wells. Ice wells are more important than you think, ensuring that the ice remains cold enough that it will not over dilute your drink as soon as you put the ice cubes in. From an enjoyment point of view the clear ice balls add a touch of opulence, coupled with our crystal cut tumblers; and from a scientific point of view due to the ice balls being made with distilled water (this is what makes them clear!) as the ice melts the pure water will leave your whisky uncontaminated.
There were about 100 guests in attendance for this wedding reception at a beautiful private residence on the Portsmouth coast. 100 guests would be the limit of the singular drinks cart, accompanied by two of our professional bartenders to ensure that everyone gets served promptly in an enjoyable manner. Our professional bartenders are on hand to help with whatever you may need, whether it is some new tips on how to try your whisky or gin, or perhaps in case you were curious about any aspect of the whisky or gin making process, our bartenders will have the answers for you.
