It was time for us to don our anoraks, board the ferry, and brave the cold and the wet for the hop over to the Isle of Man from the shores of Merseyside – and it was quite the journey as you can see from the below photo. All of this was for the upcoming Poker Stars Christmas Party held in the same location as their International Headquarters, in Douglas – the Isle of Man’s Capital City. We were recruited by Optimal Events to come over and provide our usual support package of Isle of Man mobile bar hire, bar support staff, the cocktail menu, and a little entertainment in the form of World Champion flair bartenders Tomek and Marek.
Mobile bar hire is one of our more specialist areas and as a result we have a large range of mobile bars to choose from (take a look here) or we can even design your very own bespoke mobile bar, especially for your event. This is what we did for the Poker Stars event, designing a very cool looking (no pun intended) ice themed mobile bar (pictured below) – and also one of our fully customisable LED mobile bars with full DMX control (which allows you to change the LED’s to almost any colour you want) and Sound to Light features!
The event took place inside a private aeroplane hanger at Douglas Airport, and it turned out to be a fantastic venue. Alongside our mobile bar’s we also provided your typical bar support services, with bar backs, flair bartenders, and cocktail experts – in addition, World Champion flair bartenders Tomek and Marek didn’t only put on a performance, but also jumped in behind our mobile bars to add a bit of flair to the range of cocktails being served to the guests. In addition to this we also worked closely with the client to design a classic cocktail menu that would cater to all tastes and fit in perfectly with the event and its overall feel and theme.
Overall the event was a grand success for us, Poker Stars, and Optimal Events and it was a pleasure to hop over the water to the Isle of Man to fulfil it.
