Our Top 3 Christmas Cocktails

It’s Christmas Eve and don’t worry we here at Ace Bar Events have just the recipes to make the Christmas period very cosy and enjoyable. With a range of Christmas Cocktails from your typical Vodka based cocktail, to a fruit and Bourbon infused special and not forgetting something creamy and luxurious to round it off! These are our Top 3 Christmas Cocktails of 2015:

1. Tart Elderflower Cocktail

Christmas Cocktails

Trade in your typical white wine spritzer for something a bit more adventurous — and colourful.

In cocktail shaker of ice, stir together 60ml of Lillet Blanc (French Aromatised Wine), 45ml Vodka, 30ml of elderflower liquor and 30ml tablespoons of fruit vinegar. Stir, do not shake. Strain into tall glass filled with ice. Top with seltzer.

2. Winter Bourbon Smash

Christmas Cocktails

Traditionally, a smash is a cocktail that contains seasonal fruit. Since winter is upon us and that’s not really an option, throw a little raspberry jam in there and call it a day. Use any jam/preserves you fancy.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp preserves or jam of choice (Raspberry in this case)
30ml bourbon
15ml triple sec
30-45ml orange juice
Orange segments
A splash of soda water brightens it up

Instructions
Add 1/2 cup ice, preserves, bourbon, triple sec and orange juice to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
Pour into serving glass with a few ice cubes and top with a splash of Soda water. Garnish with orange slices and enjoy. Repeat for more drinks.

3. Hot Buttered Hazelnut Whiskey

Ingredients

60ml of Milk
1 Cinnamon Stick
30ml Whiskey
15ml Frangelico
1tbsp of Whipped Cream for garnish
Pinch of cinnamon
Instructions

Bring the milk and cinnamon stick to a simmer in a thick-bottomed pot over low heat. Allow to gently simmer for 15 minutes, stirring constantly (if you don’t stir constantly, the milk on the bottom of the pan will start to cook onto it, and the next time you stir the pot little cooked milk bits will mix into the liquid. Not so fun.) Remove from heat, remove the cinnamon stick, and pour the milk into the serving glass. Add the whiskey and the Frangelico and stir to combine. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately.
