Recently we had the pleasure of putting on a 1920s cocktail experience for corporate client, Mckinsey & Company. Mckinsey & Company are a worldwide management consultancy firm and widely considered the most prestigious management consultancy on the globe with 80% of their clientele made up from the world largest companies. The 1920s cocktail experience took place at the wonderful Danesfield House (pictured below).
Danesfield House is located between Marlow and Henley-on-Thames in Buckinghamshire, just 30 minutes away from central London. This stunning country house is surrounded by 65 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland. The Terrace doors’ unveil the private grounds with the River Thames as backdrop. Located in the grounds are the stunning Italian and water gardens, tennis courts and a croquet lawn. The Grade II listed house was completed in 1901, although it has a real art deco feel to it, which made it the perfect setting for the Mckinsey Group to host their 1920s cocktail experience.
The corporate event took place for roughly 80 guests, all of which are Mckinsey & Company upper management employees. Included were the provision of our beautifully decorated 4 meter mobile bars – of which two were made up and fitted together (as can be seen above). We are able to change the custom design on the front of the bar to almost anything of the clients choosing and for this occasion they went for this quintessential art deco pattern.
As well as the 1920s mobile bar we also provided all associated drinks, staffing, and a small selection of 1920s cocktails: including the Negroni, White lady, and Mint Julep. Each of the guests were shown how to make their very own 1920s cocktails as well as having a go themselves, a number of times, and let’s not forget, consuming the fruits of their labour! In order to live the 1920s theme to the fullest, all of our crystal glassware was carefully selected to match the period as was the barware used with copper cocktail shakers, jiggers, bar spoons and more! The whole 1920s theme really did look the part.
