Recently we were invited down to Kosher Food and Wine Experience at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in London to put together a selection of kosher cocktails for events, plus cocktail techniques through a cocktail masterclass. We have worked on a number of kosher events in the past and we know what is required in order to build a beautifully balanced kosher cocktail.
Understanding every ingredient in a cocktail and how they culminate is very important and it is no different when it comes to kosher cocktails, apart from the fact that all the ingredients used are kosher. Here at Ace Bar Events we are understanding of the requirements around kosher food and drink.
In particular, these kosher cocktails for events were put together using the portfolio from Kedem Europe. Including one of the kosher brands we have worked with before, Walders which was used as the main ingredient for two different kosher cocktails and served on their stand in The Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel for the Kosher Food and Wine Experience.
Our director Andy Collinson led the masterclass and shared some great specific knowledge on using the kosher spirits and liquors in cocktails. For example, Walders (despite being kosher and of course non-dairy) can still be mixed with fruit juices in cocktails and will not split.
You can read more of Andy’s advice here in The Jewish Chronicle: http://www.thejc.com/community/community-news/cocktail-class-we-ll-drink-to-that-at-kosher-show-1.432460
Andy has also put together some great videos of two of the Walders cocktails created showcasing the new Walders Banoffee product: The Rum Stag and The Englishman in China, which you can see below:
