Working for another event company, we were called in to provide our bar support expertise – this covered everything from our stunning black and gold mobile bar, to a bespoke menu of cocktails and of course flair bartenders and mixologists to bring it all together. The event companies’ client was Bayer, who are largely recognised for some of their products in the consumer pharmaceutical market such as Berrocca, Rennie and Alka-Seltzer – although they are also heavily involved in crop science, animal health and medicine. A world class company with over 150 years experience, Bayer’s innovations are centred around improving the quality of life for all, this is also our aim at Ace Bar Events, albeit not quite on the same level!
From the feedback received it appears we did at least improve the quality of life for those guests in attendance! The event for the Bayer Group took place at The Brighton Grand, an amazing venue. Our 4 meter black and gold mobile bar was slotted in to the side of the fantastic conference room in the Grand, with the tables for the 150 or so guests occupying the main space (as you can see below). The LED backlit panels on the art deco style mobile bar add to its theatre ensuring it is a focal point for any event and matched up quite nicely with the other LED lighting in use in the room:
Many of the events we support with our mobile bars, cocktails and more, often take place at hotels or other venues with their own bar or alcohol offering. One way around this is the venues may ask for a corkage fee, which would allow us and any others to bring along their own selection of drinks and alcohol to serve and sell. This can be sometimes costly.
We are always happy to negotiate with the venue on your behalf, with the attempt of coming to an agreement that suits all parties. In this case we agreed for the venue to supply all the mainline alcoholic spirits that were to be used – whereas Ace Bar Events would provide the rest of the ingredients that are harder to source, such as liquors, syrups, mixers and purees; as well as all of the barware. This worked out really well as it meant the venue was happy and the client avoided corkage, which of course also made them very happy.
In addition to the mobile bar and two of our professional flair bartenders we were also tasked with creating a fun and relevant cocktail menu. We always enjoy the challenge of branding cocktails. In this case we came up with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, including a green coloured cocktail to tie in with one of their most successful products, Berrocca.
