Working alongside our good friends at Vanilla Bean Catering we recently helped support an event at a private residence in Oxshott, Surrey with an apres ski themed mobile bar and bartender. We have supported a large number of private events in the county of Surrey, particularly around the Weybridge, St George’s Hill and Oxshott areas. The organisers of this event chose an apres ski theme, which we found great fun!
As you may already know, Ace Bar Events like to take a theme deadly seriously! We don’t mess about so alongside our apres ski themed mobile bar and backdrop we also had our professional flair bartender in a ski hat and googles. The overall theme was fantastic, which you can see from some of the images below including winter themed centrepieces, a ski arcade machine, a whole host of decorations, and of course our winter themed cocktails.
Apres ski is defined as the short intense party between finishing your skiing and going back to your place of residence for dinner. It generally involves large amounts of both alcohol and entertainment and for it to be truly considered apres ski, many believe you must have your ski boots on too. Although thankfully the guests didn’t take the theme to this extreme! Typically taking place between 3.30pm and 7.00pm apres ski (or after ski if literally translated) is a very important part of skiing culture around the world.
The client was presented with a number of winter themed options and in the end they opted for our log effect on the front of the mobile bar and a snowflake backdrop – to make their apres ski themed mobile bar. Our professional flair bartender was serving our selection of winter cocktails all evening for around 65 guests and still managed to pull off his impressive array of tricks – even with the hat and ski goggles!
The guest favourite was our Snowball Martini: Rum, Egg White, Coconut Puree and Pine Schnapps.
