Here at Ace Bar Events there are a few things we take very seriously: Events (obviously!), customer happiness, mobile bars, and cocktails. When we were given the opportunity by our cocktail puree and mixer supplier, ODK, to fly over to their birthplace – Italy – and truly experience the ODK product, we couldn’t say no! After all this would give us an opportunity to fully evaluate ODK puree’s ourselves, inside and out.
Our invite took us to Palermo, Sicily – in the South of Italy – and the home of many of ODK’s fruit fields and orchards, as well as their main production plant. We were given a tour of the entire production facility and witnessed first hand the level of quality and attention that is given to every single piece of fruit, which goes into these purees.
In addition to a tour of the production plant we were shown around some of their mandarin fields and orchards. Here we got to pick the fruit for ourselves, taste and test it – straight from the source! The Head Farmer showed us around these vast fields of fruit, explaining ODK puree’s complicated cultivation process, and methods of quality control. We were very impressed!
We discussed some new and upcoming projects with ODK puree’s while we were over there and even got to try some new and exciting flavours coming our way very soon! Suffice to say, we already have some great ideas of how to use these in some future cocktails. In addition, we were shown around a new top secret area, where under lock and key ODK are cultivating a brand new and exciting product for the industry – that is all we are allowed to say for now!
Overall, we wholly enjoyed our trip to the South of Italy and our tour of the ODK facilities. We would like to thank ODK puree’s for the invitation and can’t wait to see what is to come from them next – as well as experiment with some of their new flavours!
